Overview
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), established in 1896, is the first university to set up the aeronautics major in China. During the long history of development, SJTU has cultivated numerous outstanding aerospace professionals. In 2005, Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology (IAST) was put in place and officially affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (SAA) was founded in 2008.
Since SAA established, it has set high goals and enjoyed rapid growth with its effective positioning strategy. As an emerging power in China’s aerospace research community, the school has participated in various research and community services. It has engaged in a number of national key projects, increasing its influence in the field. It has established cooperative relations with a number of research institutes and corporations and built joint laboratories. These efforts have been highly recognized by the government and other institutions, and brought to SAA a number of key projects funded by the national government and Shanghai municipal government. SAA has drawn on internationally recognized modes of educations, tapped into various resources in order to produce high-end professionals with solid theoretical knowledge and broad professional horizons. The school adheres to elite education and pursues international development. Remarkable progress has been made in academic program, talent pool and internationalization.
With the State’s strong support for aerospace industry, the golden opportunity provided by the development of Shanghai based aerospace industry, we firmly believe that a glorious chapter will be written in China’s aerospace development that belongs to SJTU.
Job Description
Title: Faculty Position, including Distinguished Researcher (Tenure Track), Professor and Associate Professor
Location: Shanghai, China
Salary: We offer internationally competitive annual salary equivalent to that for the same position by international standard. It is negotiable depending on the applicant’s academic credentials.

Requirements
A PhD degree on science, engineering, or other related field.
Proven overseas research experience in Aerospace Engineering(Aircraft Design/Aerospace Information and Control/ Propulsion/Near Space Studies).
First-authored publications in international journals indexed by SCI.
Laureates or eligible applicants of the Chinese Recruitment Program of Global Youth Experts, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, or National Young Talent Support Program is preferable.
Responsibilities
Teaching:
To oversee the design and development of the overall curricula, and develop and deliver a range of programs of study at various levels.
To supervise student projects, set and assess coursework and examinations, as well as provide feedback to students.
Research:
To keep up with the currently going on research and developments in the field of aerospace.
To carry out independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
To publish papers on top academic journals, provide presentations on international conferences, and contribute to the research reputation of the school and universiy.
