2017 Shanghai Jiao Tong University China-Russia Aerospace Joint Institute International Summer School was open

On the morning of September 6, 2017, the opening ceremony of the International Summer School of the China-Russia Aerospace Joint Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was held at the lecture hall (Room 117) of Chen Ruiqiu Building. Associate Dean of School of Aeronautics and Astronautics (SAA), Zhan Xinqun, Assistant to the Dean, Ge Yang, Jia Ziyi from ​SJTU International Mobility Office, Project Manager of Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), Dmitrii Slezkin and International Project Manager, Alexander Khvan, attended the opening ceremony. Director of SAA International Office, Yang Yongsheng, hosted the opening ceremony.

29 freshmen of SJTU-MAI Dual Master Degree Program would participate in the summer camp. After the end of the summer camp, they would serve as the first new students of this program to open the study of the graduate stage with 23 Chinese students together.

The opening ceremony aims to welcome the new graduate students from MAI. Through the careful explanation of the teachers from SJTU, MAI students could better understand China, read China, know SJTU, study in SJTU and live in SJTU.

At the beginning, Zhan Xinqun introduced the development of China-Russian aerospace industry and shared their own experiences and feelings in Russia. Then, Dmitrii Slezkin sent blessings to everyone, hoped that students can enjoy a good campus life, and can contribute to the development of China and Russia aerospace industry in the near future.

After the opening ceremony, Prof. Zheng Hua from the School of International Public Affairs and Business, SJTU, presented the rapid development of Chinese cities from multiple views. In the afternoon, the director of the Office of Internationalization of the Graduate School, Kong Lingti, explained the school graduate education and management methods for the MAI students. Two teachers hoped that the students can better understand China, be familiar with SJTU and be fit into the new life.

Through the activities of the day, SAA welcomed and carried out a preliminary education to the MAI students. Through the careful explanations of teachers, MAI students had a further understanding and vision on the development of the school, campus construction, life shaping. Hope they can achieve harvest in life and academics.
