In the end of May, foreign teachers and students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) received the COVID-19 vaccine at the Junlian Branch of Zhuanqiao Community Service Center.
Under the principle of "voluntary application, informed consent and at their own risk", more than 100 foreign teachers and students from Germany, France, South Korea, Pakistan and other countries successfully completed the first dose of vaccination.
The health and safety of foreign teachers and students are valued by SJTU. At the end of April, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office learned that although Shanghai opened appointments for COVID-19 vaccination for foreigners, it would be difficult to make an appointment in the short term due to the limited quantity.
Under the requirement from top leaders of SJTU, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office took the initiative to contact with foreign teachers and students for their needs to get vaccinated. and coordinated and arranged unified vaccination through the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs , and steadily promoted the vaccination investigation and special vaccination arrangement under the cooperation of the prevention and control office of the school, the university hospital, the student affairs office and all colleges. For the convenience of teachers and students, we also specially arrange bus transport and send people to follow up the whole process and coordinate on site.
In order to vaccinate quickly and orderly and ensure a good vaccination experience, Junlian Branch prepared a bilingual version of informed consent for vaccination, and arranged everything in an orderly manner from appointment registration, certificate verification, payment, inoculation to observation monitoring, which ensured the convenience, efficiency and safety of on-site vaccination.
Vaccination is not only beneficial to one's own health, but also to the health of the whole society.
Foreign teachers and students expressed their confidence in China's prevention and control of the epidemic and the vaccination, and they will participate in the second dose of vaccination on time.
Although foreign teachers and students are only a small group, problems concerning their immediate interests are of great concern to the International Cooperation and Exchange Office.
This arrangement is also one of the practical activities of "I do practical things for the masses" carried out by the International Cooperation and Exchange Office. In the future, the department will continue to handle all practical matters with sense of responsibility, responsible attitude, warm-hearted service and solid management, and strive to do well the work of foreign teachers and students with high quality management and service.
